These courses have been specifically designed to meet current legislation requirements for drivers who are involved in transporting hazardous substances by road in tanks, tank containers and packages. All drivers who need to move hazardous substances by road must by law hold a valid ADR certificate. This certificate is issued by the DVLA Swansea and is valid for a period not exceeding 5 years. All such licenses must be renewed before expiry date. The course has three main objectives:
1. To ensure drivers have sufficient knowledge and information to enable them to operate safely, respond to and deal effectively with emergency situations
2. To ensure drivers know and understand the current legislation and how the legislation impacts on them.
3. To ensure drivers recognise the need for on going training over and above that provided by this course.
Attendance on this course and passing a series of multi-choice examination questions will lead to a vocational training certificate (VTC), enabling the driver to drive specified types of vehicle with specified types of load.
